The Enrichment Centre students at the Maleny Primary School have been hard at work during Term 4 working on their Community Service Project.
The project entailed making flannelette pouches for the sick and injured wildlife at the Koala Wildlife hospital at Australia Zoo. On Tuesday, the students presented 21 brightly coloured pouches to Gail Gipp, the Hospital Manager. The Koala and Wildlife hospital was extremely grateful for the gesture and welcomed the much needed supplies to the hospital.
The students were treated to a guided tour of the hospital, seeing over 48 wildlife patients - mainly koalas - that Gail and her team attend too. Not only were the kids treated to a guided tour of the koala unit, they received a Steve Irwin Wildlife Warrior badge for their efforts and a surprise visit to Australia Zoo.
